Answers:

  1. What Companies are?
    Of course, Companies are a list of companies available for your Contacts. You can store multiple information regarding compenies like name, address, phone, fax, website or notes. All companies could be organized in groups.
    For each company you can have tasks or events associated, with direct links to them.
  2. How can I quickly access or find records?
    Companies access works similar to contact access. You can search or browse by group, by keywords, starting with a letter, or any of these combinations. Your results are displayed on multiple pages.
     
  3. How can I view details or edit records?
    After you found your record you can view details when click on the company name or edit it when click on edit icon (). You also have an Update button when viewing company details.
     
  4. How can I delete records?
    Similar to contacts there are two ways to delete records: company by company or multiple companies at once, depending on delete icon () you used. Always will be a confirmation box where you can accept or cancel this operation. Records are physically deleted from database with no recover option.
     
  5. How can I print records?
    You can easily print companies by selecting them and use icon from the right-bottom corner (With selected:). A new printer-friendly page is open with a dialog to print that page. All you have to do is to confirm that dialog box. This is by design in all web browsers, they can't directly print any page without your confirmation because of security reasons.
    You even can cancel that dialog and have a simpler page with selected records, without printing them, for any purposes.
     
  6. Why I can't import or export companies?
    Integrated applications (MS Outlook and MS Outlook Express) don't have separate companies details, so there is no object for these operations. They don't accept companies lists thus we don't offer import / export operations for companies.
     
  7. What are Quick Links?
    Similar to contacts you can access from here related pages for current company. It might be companies from the same group, contacts in this company, events or tasks related to this company or similar information.
    Also, there is a check-box for multiple selections for multiple deletion or print. You can select all records at once clicking on header check-box.
     
  8. Other tips for Companies?
    • You can order companies list using up or down icons in header;
    • Can open company web site, if available, clicking on home icon (next to name);
    • Can have names that start with non-alphanumeric characters;
