- What Tasks are?
As their name suggest Tasks are just a list of activities, done or
not. You can associate them a start date and due date, organize by groups
or by status. You even have a direct link to toggle its status, from Active
( ) to Completed
( ) and vice-versa.
- How can I quickly access or find records?
All tasks are displayed on multiple pages, by groups or by status. There are
several statuses: Not startted, Active, In progress, Waiting and Completed.
You can choose any of them or all of them, combined with other search criteria.
You even can order them by any fields.
All next tasks are available from Home page ( ),
immediately after login.
- How can I view details or edit records?
When click on a task you can access its details. From there you have a button
to edit it, or you can edit it directly from Tasks page with edit icon ( ).
Don't forget to save your changes.
- How can I delete records?
Like other pages, there are two delete icons ( ):
one for single records deletion and the other for multiple (batch) deletion.
In second case you have to select all records you want to delete, then hit
delete icon from bottom-right corner. You need to confirm this operation.
Attention: all records are actually deleted from database and they can't be
recovered.
- How can I print records?
To print one or multiple records you have to select them and then use print
button ( ). You'll get all
records in separate (popup) printer frienly page. All you have to do is to
confirm printing operation.
- How can I import or export records?
Tasks could be imported or exported into MS Outlook the same manner as calendar
events. You have to select them first, then click export icon ( ).
Save new file locally. Then you can import these records into MS Outlook,
from File -> Import and Export ... -> Import from another program
or a file, choose tasks folder and local saved file. Similarly, you can
import into iAssistant.NET tasks from previously exported MS Outlook tasks,
using top-left Import link.
- What Quick Links are?
This column has some quick links to related to current task. For instance,
all tasks for a contact ( )
or company ( ), or tasks
in the same group ( ).
Also, you have here check-boxes for multiple selections.
- How tasks are associated to contacts or companies?
For task editing page you can select an existing contact or company to be
associated with the task. There are 2 options: for les than 50 records (contacts
or companies) you can select them from a drop-down list. If you have more
contacts or companies there is a popup search window. To narrow the records
you can use part of the name directly in that form and hit Find button. This
will display all records that meet criteria (contains string provided). You
may need to allow popup windows for this site, if you use an popup blocker.
- Other tips for Tasks?
Some quick observations which may help:
- Completed tasks are displayed strikethrough;
- Can select all records using header Quick Links check-box.
